The normally quiet north coast of Bali will be filled with music and dance when the 2019 Buleleng Festival (Bulfest) takes place from 2 - 6 August 2019 to be centered at the Singa Ambara Raja Monument, Puri Kanginan, and the Sasana Budaya Cultural Center, in the Regency of Buleleng. To fill this event there will be dozens of art groups that will present their dances accompanied by gamelan and music typical of North Bali that will truly show the true strength of the Regency of Buleleng.
This year, no less than 52 cultural groups from the district and throughout northern Bali will perform at this festival. Among the many performances, there will be collaboration of Bondres and Genjek, Ramayana Ballet, Gong Kebyar, Janger Menyali Dance, and many more. There will also be musical performances from famous Indonesian Rock bands.
The Buleleng Festival (Bulfest) 2019 will begin with a mass Baleganjur art parade that will feature no less than 500 traditional percussion players from the district. An extraordinary parade will take place along the Ngurah Rai road right past the main stage.
The capital of Buleleng Regency is Singaraja city. Before Indonesian independence, - and before commercial flights -, Singaraja was the gateway to Bali, the main port for passengers and cruise ships. The legendary Charlie Chaplin is said to have visited Bali by cruise ship, arriving first at Singaraja. West of Singaraja, Lovina Beach offers a unique experience meeting with dolphins in their natural habitat.
Farther west along Bali's north coast, Buleleng district also has a quiet Pemuteran Beach. The most interesting feature among the Pemuteran underwater beauties is the enchanting underwater temple garden that unbelievably combines natural beauty with impressive artwork. Still in Buleleng, located at the most southwestern point of Bali, West Bali National Park is home to more than one hundred species of wildlife. However, this national park is known as an exotic Bali Starling refuge, an endemic iconic bird on the island of the gods. This national park also functions as a gateway to the underwater paradise of Menjangan Island.
