NYEPI – THE DAY OF SILENCE
Date: March, 29th 2025
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Nyepi, or the Day of Silence, is a sacred Balinese Hindu celebration marking the Saka New Year. Unlike other New Year festivities, Nyepi is observed with a full day of silence, fasting, and self-reflection. The entire island comes to a standstill—no travel, no lights, and no entertainment—allowing nature and the soul to rest.
Highlights of Nyepi Celebration:
Melasti Ceremony – A purification ritual at the beach before Nyepi
Ogoh-Ogoh Parade – A spectacular cultural procession of giant effigies on Pengerupukan Night
The Day of Silence – A 24-hour period of meditation, reflection, and tranquility
Ngembak Geni – The day after Nyepi, when social activities resume and people seek forgiveness
Experience the unique spiritual atmosphere of Bali during Nyepi! A rare moment where an entire island embraces peace and mindfulness.
